The impairments of the afferent and efferent peripheral pathways and the central connections of the bladder cause neurogenic bladder. This paper will discuss the conservative management techniques of neurogenic bladder due to spinal cord injury. Clean intermittent catheterization is suggested in order to prevent the high complication rates of the indwelling catheterization, which is the oldest method. Patients have a tendency to shift to reflex/spontaneous voiding. Self-discipline and patient education are the main issues in the management of neurogenic bladder.
