Camptocormia, also known as bent spine syndrome, or cyphose hysterique, is a major disabling, non-fluctuating, acquired postural
abnormality due to various different causes, characterized by an involuntary forward flexed posture of the thoracolumbar spine. The
diagnosis is based on clinical and imaging findings, needle electromyography, or muscle biopsy. There is no specific pharmacologic treatment
for primary camptocormia. An active life, walking with a cane, physiotherapy, and exercise should be encouraged. Treatment of secondary
forms of camptocormia depends on the treatment of the disorder that generates pathology. We present a 54-year-old male patient diagnosed
with camptocormia in this article.
