Stroke and Prognostic Factors
Health professionals dealing with stroke should be able to predict prognosis in order to answer the questions of the patient and family and to make a rational plan for treatment. The most important prognostic factors in stroke patients are the severity of the lesion and age. Studies are needed to determine the precise effects of many other possible factors. In the future prognosis prediction will be much easier with predictive models developed for prognosis.
