Compression of the Brachial Plexus Due to Pseudoaneurysm of the Axillary Artery as a Results of Blunt Trauma to the Shoulder

The indirect lesion of brachial plexus caused by pseudoaneurysm of the axillary artery is rarely seen. 34 years old male patient operated because of the pseudoaneurysm of left axillary artery applied with the complaint of weakness and numbness at his left arm. Electromyographic evaluation revealed brachial plexus lesion of the left arm. At the end of two months physical therapy and rehabilitation program, a minimal improvement at muscle strength and the motion range of joint was reported by the patient. In this case report a patient with brachial plexus lesion due to axillary artery pseudoaneurysm which is a rare complication of blunt trauma of the shoulder has been presented.
