Romatoid Artritli Hastalarda Atlanto-Aksiel Subluksasyon Sıklığı
2 Erciyes Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Radyodiagnostik Anabilim Dalı, Kayseri
This study was carried out to determine frequency of atlantoaxial subluxation (AAS) which can cause serious complications in the patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). 60 patients with RA (female: 43, male: 17) were included in this study. In order to evaluate AAS lateral-flexion and anteroposterior odontoid of cervical vertebrae X rays were taken in all patients. In addition, the duration of disease and clinical features of the patients were recorded. AAS in 8.3 percent, asymetric narrowing in lateral joint space and irregularity in the joint in 6.6 percent were determined. As a result, conventional radiography is the preferable method in the patients with RA because of being useful and cost effective in the evaluation of ASS.
