Soft Tissue Bleeding in a Patient With Hemophilia-A

Bleeding into the skin, muscle or other soft tissues may develop spontaneously or after trauma in patients with hemophilia. Iliopsoas hematoma is a rare and serious complication encountered in patients with hemophilia. Life-threatening bleeding may result in morbidity and mortality in patients with severe factor VIII deficiency and with antibodies developed against factor VIII. In this study, we report a pediatric patient with haemophilia A who presented with hip pain and difficulty in walking and was diagnosed as having iliopsoas hematoma. In this group of patients, attention should be paid to hip pain due to the possibility of the presence of iliopsoas haematoma. Early diagnosis and treatment may prevent the complications.
